A darker, more devastated version of Rohan’s grassy plains, reflecting the Uruk-hai’s relentless march. The ground is muddier, the grass is duller, and the land looks like it’s been churned by thousands of marching feet.

  1. Basing Material
Apply a mix of basing material (sand, fine gravel, or textured paste) with superglue for rocks and larger debris.

Apply sand with PVA glue, but leave some areas bare to expose "muddy" sections later.

    Painting
Prime the base with Chaos Black spray.

Basecoat the ground with Rhinox Hide (instead of Mournfang Brown for a darker, more ominous tone).

Drybrush all over with Steel Legion Drab, followed by a lighter drybrush of Karak Stone for texture.

Paint any rocks Dawnstone, then wash with Agrax Earthshade for a dirtier look. Highlight with a drybrush of Administratum Grey, followed by a very light touch of White Scar.

To create a damp, marshy look, apply Nuln Oil in patches on the ground.

Use Athonian Camoshade in some areas to simulate moss, rot, or vegetation decay.

    Base Rim
Paint the rim with Rhinox Hide (darker than Steel Legion Drab to reinforce the grim tone).

    Foliage
Use burnt, trampled-down grass tufts instead of vibrant ones.

Mix Mordheim Turf and Middenland Tufts for an overgrown yet dying effect.

Lightly drybrush some grass with Zamesi Desert or Karak Stone to make it look dried out.

(Optional) Add patches of Stirland Mud or Valhallan Blizzard (watered-down for wet mud) for a more war-ravaged battlefield look.
