White is a hard colour to paint, but I find this simple recipe is ideal for small areas or detail on a miniature, and offers great results.

  1. Base coat all of the areas that will be white with Corax White .
  2. Mix some Apothecary White with Contrast Medium 1:1. Then cover all of these areas with a thin coat, being sure to wick away any of the mix where it pools.
  3. Where additional shading is needed, I recommend glazing in some thinned Thunderhawk Blue . If there are any particularly deep recesses, pop some into there too.
  4. Now carefully edge highlight everything with a fine line of Ulthuan Grey .
  5. Finally, pop dots of Dead White or you pure white of choice onto corners and on pronounced curved edges where light would hit.
