How I paint and detail 15mm British tanks. Colours suitable for Europe 1944-1945

  1. Black base coat the model. I use Chaos Black
  2. Two thin coats of AK11386 S.C.C. No.15 Olive Drab across the hull
  3. Tamiya Accent Panel Line Black into the recesses and once dry wipe off excess with thinner and a cotton bud.
  4. Drybrush the hull Russian Uniform WWII and then finer with 70:30 Russian Uniform WWII and Khaki
  5. Tracks are coated with Track Primer and then accent line Brown in the same way as black on the hull. I then pick out some areas with an artists silver pencil.
  6. Tool handles are Steel Legion Drab and then Karak Stone any darker and they’d be lost.
  7. Tool metal is Gunmetal Metallic and the straps are Green Grey
  8. Crew overalls are Burnt Umber English Uniform and US Field Drab
  9. Skin at this scale is Bugman's Glow Cadian Fleshtone and finally a little Kislev Flesh
  10. Next I add transfers using Micro Set and Micro Sol to smooth them.
  11. The model is weathered with MIG pigments and fixing fluid. Browns for the tracks, wheels and underside. Black for the barrel and engine deck.
  12. Once finished the model is spray varnished with Windsor and Newton Professional Matt Varnish Spray.
  13. Aerials are normal decorators brush.
