Preparation
- Prepare your model. A zenithal highlight is extremely helpful for identifying your highlighted areas, work your way from Black to Cold Grey up to bright White .
- Before working on the armor, it is better to quickly get paint on the under suit first. I usually use German Grey but a brown tone would work as well.
Beskar Armor
NMM armor should be approached as a reflective surface, and thus reflecting the environment the model is in. For this guide, I am assuming a desert terrain.
- Sketch in some dark brown areas on the armor using Saddle Brown and mix in some Flat Earth for both color variation and highlights. Leave the horizon line dark for better contrast.
- Continuing our sketch, paint the areas of the armor that reflect the sky using Russ Grey or Wolf Grey .
- Define the armor panels by lining them with a recess shade of Nuln Oil .
- Paint the visor now with the color of your choice. Any other recessed details should be painted now while we can still correct any mistakes pretty easily.
Highlights
- Return to the brown tones, mixing in some lighter beige tones such as Iroko mixed with Iraqi Sand .
- Lighten your blue/grey tone with white. Working up from Russ Grey , Fenrisian Grey , all the way up to White Scar mixed with Ivory
- Bring back your blue tones with some blue glaze or wash, such as Ultramarine Blue or Drakenhof Nightshade .
