Painted is better than grey, that’s all.

The only real objective is to finish the whole Combat Patrol box. I'm aiming for a fast tabletop standard, not a painting award. If a spot is unreachable or invisible without a magnifying glass, it doesn't exist. Get the paint on, get them on the table... or just go back to the store to buy more to paint.

1. Begin the process by priming all your models with a solid, even undercoat of Matt Black to establish the deep shadows for the Slapchop method.

Dry brush

1. Dry brush Deep Grey heavily over the entire model, leaving the black primer visible only in the deepest recesses and unreachable areas.
2. Dry brush Ash Grey with a top-down motion, but brush multi-directionally on focal points like faces or weapons if they need to be brighter.
3. Dry brush Matt White very lightly, focusing only on the highest edges, sharpest textures, and parts that stand out from above.

Speedpaint Application

1. Start by detailing the maws of all your beasts and boyz; apply Familiar Pink on the inner mouths, tongues, and exposed gums. Next, move on to the mounts and apply Slaughter Red on the main bodies and full skin surface of the Squigs. Once the red is down, tackle the greenskins by making sure to apply Shamrock Green on all exposed Ork flesh, faces, and muscular arms. Finally, finish up the crew and apply Forest Sprite on the Grot flesh to ensure a lighter, distinct contrast against the larger Orks.
2. Moving on to their gear and wardrobe, begin by making sure to apply Tidal Wave on all fabric elements, including shirts, pants, and cloth wraps. To give them that wild, untamed look, apply Nuclear Sunrise on any fur patches, pelt cloaks, and animal hides. For the sturdier parts of their kit, carefully apply Dark Wood on the heavy leather details, such as the saddles, boots, belts, and weapon straps. Finally, bring out the sharpest features of the mob and apply Pallid Bone on all organic details like teeth, tusks, claws, horns, and bone trophies.
