Yellow Camel

  1. Basecoat with Balor Brown .
  2. Drybrush with Averland Sunset . Go quite heavy and pick out all accessible raised portions.
  3. Drybrush more selectively with 1:1 Averland Sunset and Ushabti Bone , enhancing the shapes picked out in the last stage even more.
  4. Shade with a 1:1 mix of Nazdreg Yellow and Contrast Medium . I shaded mine with a mix of glazes and more traditional recess shading.
  5. If you need to further define any points, I would recommend selectively shading deep recesses with a little thinned Dryad Bark .
  6. With everything else in place, now is a good time to make specific details pop. I did this with selective highlights of Ushabti Bone and specular Wraithbone highlights.

Riders Skin

  1. Basecoat with1:1 Cadian Fleshtone and Mournfang Brown .
  2. Mix some of the basecoat 1:1 with more Mournfang Brown and carefully shade the skin. I thinned this paint with Lahmian Medium , to make it easier to work with.
  3. Mix the above paint 1:1 with Rhinox Hide , and further define deep recesses. I stuck to shading eye sockets and where the skin met other materials at this stage.
  4. Mix the basecolour with some Ushabti Bone and apply highlights. If you want a ratio, this will be about 1:3.
  5. Increase the amount of Ushabti Bone in the mix, until it is roughly 1:1 with the basecolour. Now selectively highlight the skin, focusing on knuckles and protruding elements.
  6. Mix even more Ushabti Bone in to the base mix until there is substantially more than the original basecolour and add some final highlights.

Black Hair

The amount of hair visible/accessible in this kit varies greatly, but I basecoat with Black . Then mixed Blue Horror into the Black highlighting raised details. i then repeated as necessary, highlighting more selectively as the amount of Blue Horror increased.

  5. Selectively highlight curves and corners that would catch the light with Ungor Flesh .
  6. Finish with a few specular Ushabti Bone highlights.

Dark Blue Cloth

  1. Basecoat with an equal parts mix of Incubi Darkness and Thunderhawk Blue , now mix in a little Abaddon Black until you are happy with the colour.
  2. Shade with a thin mix of 1:1 Incubi Darkness and Abaddon Black .
  3. Mix a blow of the leftover basecolour 1:1 with more Thunderhawk Blue and add chunky highlights to the cloth.
  4. Mix the previous paint 2:1 with Administratum Grey and add fine highlights to the cloth.
  5. Increase the amount of Administratum Grey in the mix so it is at least 1:1 and selectively highlight.
  6. Add aven more Administratum Grey to the mix, so there is substantially more than the base colour. With this pretty bright grey colour, finish the cloth with a few specular highlights.

Off-White Cloth

  1. Basecoat with 2:1 Wraithbone and Rakarth Flesh .
  2. Soft shade with some thin Karak Stone . Glaze over fine details and run generously into the more defined ones.

  3. Drybrush more selectively with a mix of 2 parts Rakarth Flesh , 2 part Flayed One Flesh and 1 part White . At this stage we are looking to enhance the shapes picked out in the last stage even more.
  4. Shade with a 1:1 mix of Cadian Fleshtone and Baneblade Brown , thinned with an equal amount of Contrast Medium . I shaded mine with a mix of glazes and more traditional recess shading.

White Cloth

  1. Basecoat with a 1:1 mix of Celestra Grey and :white.
  2. Gradually mix Dark Reaper into the basecolour and shade the folds, using Lahmian Medium to keep it thin. Each time you mix in more Dark Reaper , shade the recesses more selectively, until you are shading the deepest parts with small amount of almost pure Dark Reaper .
  3. Pick out edges with White .

Pale Camel 2

  1. Basecoat with an equal parts mix of Ushabti Bone , Rakarth Flesh and White .
  2. Drybrush with same mix as the basecoat, but double the amount of :white.. Go quite heavy and pick out all accessible raised portions.

  4. Shade with a 1:1 mix of Cadian Fleshtone and Contrast Medium . I shaded mine with a mix of glazes and more traditional recess shading.
  5. Once I was done with the above, I thinned some Dryad Bark in a similar way. With this darker brown, I further defined deep recesses with a fine line.

Rich Blue Cloth

  1. Basecoat with 1:1 Kantor Blue and Temple Guard Blue .

  3. Edge highlight folds with Lothern Blue , making them a little chunkier on corners and curves.
  4. Mix some Lothern Blue 1:1 with Screaming Skull and apply some selective highlights on the corners and curves from the previous stage.highlights,

Dark Green Cloth

  1. Basecoat with Death Korps Drab .
