- Prime the minis with any black primer.
Using an airbrush, spray a layer of Crimson Magenta (Airbrush) paint, covering the entire body. If the layer is too thin and looks a bit transparent, you can add a second layer or sponge some Crimson Magenta (Base) paint. We want a consistent metallic magenta color over the entire miniature.- Using Crimson Magenta (Shade) paint thinned a bit with some water drops, cover the entire armor letting It pool a little in the gaps. It will darken a tiny bit the armor but will add a lot of details to the recesses.
Paint the interior of the shoulderpads using Pale Grey . A couple of thin layers should be enough to get a solid covering.- Paint the connection tubes and flexible interior parts of the armor with one or two layers of Black Legion , depending on how dark you want them to be. I did two because a single layer was not enough and the metallic magenta was still visible below the black contrast.
- Add a single thin layer of Pearl on top of the previous Pale Grey layers so It gains a very nice but subtle glittery metallic tone.
- Add edge highlights to the crimson metallic parts using Crimson Magenta (Light) paint.
- Paint the armor trims using Arcane Gold (Base) paint.
- Using Arcane Gold (Shade) paint, cover the golden trims to add some depth and contrast.
- Drybrush everything with Stormhost Silver , Sterling Silver or equivalent silver paint. Do not load the brush a lot, it must be very subtle so the entire armor looks scratched.
- Paint the leather parts using Rhinox Hide .
