This is a Homebrew chapter trying to mix elements of the Iron Warriors with the Emperor's Children.

The main colours are brass, purple, silver, and green.

General Information:

My general method is to lay down all the base colours for the model, then do all the shading in the recesses before moving on to the highlights.

I don't own an airbrush so the recipe will mainly consist of Games Workshop spray cans and brush on paints.

Priming:

I find the metallic sprays from GW tend to be a little on the transparent side, so an initial undercoat of black helps.

  1. Prime with Chaos Black
  2. Prime over that with Leadbelcher

Silver (Armour Panels - Except for the Shoulder Pads)

  1. Drybrush over with Leadbelcher to even coverage
  2. Shade the recesses with Nuln Oil
  3. Highlight fine points and sharp edges with Stormhost Silver

For grenades, replace Nuln Oil with Athonian Camoshade

Bronze (Armour Trim)

  1. Base with Balthasar Gold
  2. Shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade
  3. Highlight the edges with Fulgurite Copper
  4. Highlight fine points with Stormhost Silver

Green (Details - Cloth)

  1. Base with Incubi Darkness
  2. Shade the recesses with Nuln Oil
  3. Highlight the edges with Kabalite Green
  4. Highlight fine points with Sybarite Green

Purple (Shoulder Pads, Weapon Casing)

  1. Base with Xereus Purple
  2. Highlight the edges with Genestealer Purple
  3. Highlight fine points with Slaanesh Grey

Red (Details - Lenses, Tubes)

  1. Base with Mephiston Red
  2. Shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade
  3. Highlight the edges with Evil Sunz Scarlet
  4. Finer highlight with Wild Rider Red
  5. Highlight fine points with Fire Dragon Bright

Black (Details - Armour Ribbing)

  1. Base with Abaddon Black
  2. Highlight the edges with Eshin Grey

Beige (Details - Bone)

  1. Base with Ushabti Bone
  2. Shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade
  3. Highlight sharp edges with Screaming Skull

Horns

  1. Base with Rakarth Flesh
  2. Layer the upper half with Skrag Brown
  3. Shade over with Agrax Earthshade
  4. Highlight the lower edges with Rakarth Flesh
  5. Finer highlight with Pallid Wych Flesh

Brown (Details - Leather Pouches)

  1. Base with Rhinox Hide
  2. Shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade
  3. Roughly highlight the edges with Skrag Brown
  4. Add a fine highlight of Ushabti Bone
