- Prime a light brown. I used Desert Sand
- Basecoat the fabric with Morghast Bone , followed by a thin wash of Seraphim Sepia
- Basecoat the face/skin with Pale Flesh
- Rehighlight the cloth with Morghast Bone , then apply more extreme highlights with Screaming Skull . Dot highlight on very edges with Pallid Wych Flesh
- Coat the armour in Wyldwood . I think Garaghak's Sewer would probably make a better foundation but I can't find mine :(
- Tint the skin with Guilliman Flesh , then rehighlight with Pale Flesh , and go back-forth a few times for the right level of colour. I then tinted the beard area with heavily thinned Cold Flesh , and the scarred tissue with thinned Carroburg Crimson . Eye was dotted Matt White as I like the idea that the scarred area has a blinded eye, but you can dot in a pupil if you wanna be screen accurate.
- Coat the armour in Decayed Metal ; can keep it patchy for a bit of wear/tear but I'll be doing this mostly during the basing stage. I then did an extremely subtle highlight by mixing in a little Old Copper , and washed the whole thing with Targor Rageshade . The recesses were further darked with a touch of Ratling Grime .
- The belt and leather pouches were base coated with Dark Brown , washed with some Targor Rageshade
- Salacious Crumb (alien in the crate) was painted with Light Green and washed with Targor Rageshade
- All other metallic areas were basecoated with Black Templar
- The crate was given a subtle drybrush with Heavy Metal
- The other blacked out parts were roughly weathered with a Buff AK Weathering Pencil.
- Bedroll was coated Krieg Khaki and then washed with Targor Rageshade
- Base was filled in with AK's Neutral Rough Terrain texture paint, then heavily weathered with Vallejo Pigments' Rust and New Rust (this was also dragged onto the lower surfaces of the model). Base rim was made black with a playmarker, and I airbrushed AK Super Matte varnish over the entire mini.
- I wouldn't recommend following this guide bar the cloth - I tried a few paints I'm wanting to experiment with, and used way too many different ones. If a Legion Dengar model comes out, I'll publish a much consolidated one (e.g. I could have done an overall targor wash and unified the green/brown tones to 1-2 colours and mixes).
