  1. Basecoat with Khorne Red .
  2. Wash with Druchii Violet , thinned with an equal amount of Lahmian Medium .
  3. Bring the colour back up by glazing raised/exposed areas with a 1:1 mix of Khorne Red and Wazdakka Red .
  4. Add chunky highlights to the skin with Wazdakka Red .
  5. Mix the Wazdakka Red with some Squig Orange 1:1 and add fine edge highlights.
  6. Selectively highlight prominant edges and points with Squig Orange .
  7. Add some Lugganath Orange to your Squig Orange and place specular highlights within the last stages highlights.

On lower areas that are close to the lighter belly I highlighted the skin differently. I started by mixing some Rakarth Flesh into my Khorne Red for large highlights and then added small highlights by mixing in some Pallid Wych Flesh . I have no ratios for this, I just did it by eye.

  1. For the belly, I blocked in the area with Rakarth Flesh and painted a think dividing line of Rakarth Flesh and Khorne Red .
  2. I then used the paints above to glaze a smoothing transition, swithing back and forth until it looked OK. Don't stress too much about it being super-smooth, the other details on the mini will draw most of the attention.
  3. Washt the belly (hehe) with Reikland Fleshshade thinned with Lahmian Medium .
  4. Lighten the colour of the raised parts of the flesh with a 1:1 mix of Rakarth Flesh and Pallid Wych Flesh .
  5. Add chunky highlights of Pallid Wych Flesh where appropriate.
  6. Add some pure white (I like Dead White ) to the Pallid Wych Flesh and add small highlights to the belly.
