Basics
- Chaos Black undercoat
- Heavy stipple/drybrush of Grimoire Purple ; this will probably require a second coat
- Medium drybrush of Golden Griffon
- Paint weapon blades with Broadsword Silver
- Lighter drybrush of Necron Compound across entire model
- Basecoat gems with Stormhost Silver
- Wash gems with Blood Angels Red
- Paint skin with Dorado Skin
- Paint beards with Black Templar
- Wash skin and beards with Dark Skin Shade
- Basecoat demonic energy with Pale Sand , also paint the tusks with the same
- Wash demonic energy with Aeldari Emerald
War Machines
- Following similar instructions to the above, undercoat the model in successive drybrushes of Oak Brown , Leather Brown , and then Golden Griffon
- Where there are larger demonic energy effects -- e.g., the flames or steam of the Dominator Engine, undercoat the effects with a layer of Ancient Stone (or maybe it is Dusty Skull -- just don't try to go straight to white), then the Pale Sand , then a drybrush of Matt White
- Wet blend Soulblight Grey into Aeldari Emerald into Basilicanum Grey on the larger energy effects
Extras
- Hobgrots are an undercoat of Grimoire Purple followed by a drybrush of Dusty Skull
I want to experiment with the hobgrot approach some. The goal here was to catch the same purple tone as the dwarves, but without the finery, reflected in the drybrush of a neutral color instead of the gold.
- Hobgrot skin is Dusty Skull , then Dark Skin Shade , then relayering
- Bases are Vallejo Black Lava/Asphalt texture paste, then a drybrush of Deep Grey , then Ash Grey , plus Valhallan Blizzard
- Add tufts and then put a little Valhallan Blizzard into the tufts!
- War Despot has some gems that are Magos Purple
- Base rims are Deep Grey
- And obviously, don't leave home without a coat of Munitorum Varnish
