1. Start off with a model on an unfinished base
2. Glue sand to the top of the base using slightly watered down PVA glue
3. Basecoat the top of the base with Mournfang Brown . Watering the paint down quite a lot will help it soak into the sand
4. Drybrush the sand with Zamesi Desert
5. Lightly drybrush the sand again, this time with Ushabti Bone
6. Paint the rim of the base with a few thin coats of Steel Legion Drab
7. Apply PVA glue in a few random blobs and then sprinkle on static grass

Rocks

1. Basecoat with Dawnstone
2. Wash with an equal mix of Rhinox Hide Abaddon Black and Lahmian Medium
3. Drybrush with Administratum Grey
4. Lightly drybrush with White Scar
