Prime

  1. Prime with Chaos Black

Armour

Armour

  1. Base the entire model in Macragge Blue . You may have to do a few layers to get the desired coverage.
  2. Black out pieces of armour that will not be blue with Abaddon Black
  3. Begin shading the armour with 2:1 Kantor Blue / Abaddon Black . Thin down heavily with water and paint into recess and panel lines. You can reapply Macragge Blue if you go over in any spots.
  4. For highlighting, start with a 2:1 mix of Macragge Blue / Calgar Blue . Highlight a small bit out from the edges. Thin this down heavily also.
  5. Then add another part of Calgar Blue to the mix and highlight edges. Thin down heavily.
  6. Highlight next with just Calgar Blue . Thin down heavily.
  7. Selectively highlight with a 1:1 mix of Fenrisian Grey and Calgar Blue . Thin down heavily.
  8. Then add Blue Horror to this mix and apply it to the sharpest parts on the edges. Thin down heavily.

Undersuit

  1. Add fine edge highlights along all ridges with Dawnstone
  2. Highlight selectively with Administratum Grey
  3. Mix some White Scar into the Administratum Grey , then add very small highlights.

Gold Details

  1. Basecoat with Retributor Armour
  2. Shade with Reikland Fleshshade , pulling your brush towards the recess.
  3. Shade the deepest parts with a small amount of Doombull Brown .
  4. Re-establish Retributor Armour where needed.
  5. Now mix some Stormhost Silver into your Retributor Armour and selectively highlight.
  6. Finish with a few specular highlight of Stormhost Silver .

Lenses

  1. Basecoat with 1:1 Khorne Red and Abaddon Black
  2. Work Mephiston Red down into the lower areas on the lense. Water this down and apply a few times, purposely reapply heavier further down.
  3. Highlight further down Wild Rider Red Carefully blend this in to the lower ends of the lense.
  4. With Fire Dragon Bright highlight into the edge of the area previously highlighted.
  5. Add small mix of White Scar to Fire Dragon Bright and highlight the very edge bottom of the lense.
  6. Lastly, add a dot of White Scar to the very top edge of the lense.

Weapon

Metal Parts

  1. Cover the metal parts of the gun in Leadbelcher
  2. Add a shade using Nuln Oil
  3. Highlight the metal areas with Iron Hands Steel
  4. With Runefang Steel , edge highlight on corners, curves, and rivets.

Casing

  1. Highlight the edges of the cases with Corvus Black
  2. Mix 1:1 Eshin Grey / Dawnstone . And with this further highlight the very edges of highlighted areas.
  3. Finally apply Administratum Grey to the very edges
  4. Apply a dot of Grey Seer to the very edges of sharp edges

Flamer Muzzle

  1. Basecoat with Runelord Brass .
  2. Shade with Gore-grunta Fur . I would recommend popping some on your wet palette and applying selectively.
  3. Do the same with Wyldwood , targeting only the deepest points.
  4. Highlight with Runelord Brass and a little Stormhost Silver .
  5. Finish with selective highlights of Runefang Steel .
  6. To add a burn effect towards the end of the muzzle, glaze selectively with 2:1 Reikland Fleshshade and Gore-grunta Fur . Then more selectively towards the tip with a purple, like Luxion Purple .

Leather

  1. Basecoat leather areas in Rhinox Hide
  2. Glaze most of the leather with thinned Mournfang Brown . Use quite a small brush and drag towards edges in rough lines. This should create some extra texture.
  3. Add a chunky edge highlight of Skrag Brown to all edges.
  4. Highlight everything again, this time with a fine line of Skrag Brown and Ushabti Bone mixed 1:1. This is a good mix to throw in occasional fine lines as scratches too.
  5. With pure Ushabti Bone , selectively highlight corners and exposed edges of the leather. Put a dot of this colour where the additional scratched above meet edges too.
  6. Add a little pure white to your Ushabti Bone and add dot highlights to corners.
