My take on how to paint my Wight King.

Priming

  1. Prime with Matt Black

Chain mail

  1. Base coat of Plate Mail Metal
  2. Wash of Oil Stains
  3. Selective edge highlight of Mithril
  4. Add random splotches of Dark Rust
  5. Slight edge highlight of Fresh Rust near dark rust
  6. Apply wash of Dark Tone

Cloak

  1. Base of Fiendish Yellow
  2. Dry brush Daemonic Yellow
  3. Dry brush then edge highlight of Space Dust
  4. Wash of Light Tone

Bat Wings

  1. Base coat of Dragon Red
  2. Wash of Dark Tone

Chains/Keys

  1. Base coat of True Copper

Leather

  1. Base coat of Dryad Brown
  2. Wash of Strong Tone
  3. Edge highlight of Leather Brown

Sword Hilt / Rings

  1. Base of Weapon Bronze

Decorative Skull

  1. Base of Emerald Forest
  2. Highlight of Leafy Green

Wight King Skeleton Skull / Hands

  1. Base of Paratrooper Tan
  2. Dry brush of Pale Sand
  3. Wash of Soft Tone
  4. Dab of True Blood in mouth
  5. Apply a dab of Dry Blood to mouth

Fur Pelt

  1. Base of Bootstrap Brown
  2. Dry brush of Command Khaki
  3. Dry brush with Urban Buff
  4. Wash with Dark Skin Shade

Sword

  1. Layer Plate Mail Metal , Mithril , Dark Rust and Fresh Rust (Did this in this order but in a random fashion)
  2. Apply True Blood to top half of sword
  3. Apply Dry Blood at the bottom most portion of your fresh blood section

Crown

  1. Base coat of Greedy Gold
  2. Wash of Sepia Tone
  3. Edge highlight with Bright Gold
  4. Dot of Mithril on bolts

Tombstone

  1. Base coat of Grey Castle
  2. Dry brush Worn Stone
  3. Wash of Strong Tone
  4. Wash of Green Tone

Base Skeleton Skull

  1. Base coat of Paratrooper Tan
  2. Dry brush Pale Sand
  3. Wash of Soft Tone

Eyes

  1. Base of Matt White
  2. Wash of Plasma Coil Glow
  3. Dot of Matt White where you want the eye to be

Base

  1. Base of Oak Brown
  2. Glue in some sporadic patches of static grass with PVA glue

Cosmetic Effects

  1. Apply Dry Blood for effect (and to cover up issues). The goal is to make it look like he bashed something with his shield and in the process splashed his cloak in blood.
