- Prime with Grey Seer and zenithal with White Scar . Drybrush further with White Scar , or highlight if you want to apply extra effort.
- For the skin, start with Skeleton Horde on the feet, hands, belly, and face, blending with Gutrippa Flesh everywhere else. Go limb by limb, letting the paints wet blend.
- Shade the recesses on the skin with 2:1 Contrast Medium and Creed Camo .
- Drybrush skin with Ice Yellow .
- To increase saturation of the skin, cover the green areas with a thin layer of Contrast Medium slightly tinted with Mantis Warriors Green .
- Apply selective dot highlights of Ice Yellow on the raised features of the face and shoulders. Paint the limb quills and nails too.
- For cloth, use Gryph-hound Orange , Basilicanum Grey , Nazdreg Yellow , and Skeleton Horde for rope and stitching. If you edge highlighted the cloth with white this will really make a difference.
- For wood, use Gore-grunta Fur . Let it pool on one side of the shoulder pad to get a nice gradient. Highlight with LugganathOrange: with a dab of Gore-grunta Fur .
- For the non-metallic metal, base with Space Wolves Grey . Use 4:1 Contrast Medium and Leviadon Blue to apply dark gradients and recess shading. Edge highlight with White Scar .
While you have the white out, use it to dot the eyes. - For the quills, basecoat in Corvus Black . Paint the quills with Lugganath Orange then Ice Yellow , leaving black in the recesses. Re-establish the recesses if you need to.
- Paint the inside of the mouth with Fyreslayer Flesh , then again (avoiding the tounge) with Volupus Pink .
Use this technique on any meat hunks too.
