Airbrush Settings & Paint ratios

PSI 20-25, 3.5MM Needle, Iwata Neo

1. Vallejo Primer 1:1 (Flow improver : Paint)
2. FW Acrylic Inks add 1-2 drops Flow improver before ink into airbrush, no thinning required.

Step 1 - Prime

1. Prime using Black Primer

Step 2 - Highlights

1. Highlight (using hobby light or photo for reference) with white ink.

Step 3 - Varnish

1. Varnish using Mecha Gloss Varnish 1:1 Flow Improver : Varnish

Step 4 - Panel line

1. Panel line with TAMIYA PANEL LINE ACCENT COLOUR BLACK, fixing any mistakes with white spirit or thinner on a cotton bud.

Step 5 - Base colour

1. Using Purple Lake cover entire mini in thin coats, making sure not to obscure the details.

Step 6 - Edge highlighting/Drybrushing

1. From a low angle gently drybrush Purple catching the edges of the model

Step 7 - Main Armor Details

1. Black out Pouches, Weapons, Areas to be painted metallic and any other accessories with :ProAcryl/PaynesGrey

Step 8 - Blocking out colours

Paint/Block out any of the below extraneous details (or skip if not relevant)

1. Purity Seals - Paper Olive Flesh , Wax Blood Angels Red , Script Payne's Grey
2. Bolter and weapons casings Blood Angels Red

Step 9 - Blocking out metallics

1. Paint Metallics in Silver Bolter (Sight, Magazine, grip, muzzle), tubing, helmet details excluding shoulder trim and aquila.
2. Paint chest aquila and shoulders with Gold

Step 10 - Washes

1. Wash pouches, Metallics and other black details with Black Wash
2. Wash chest aquila and purity seals with Sepia Wash

Step 11 - Edge highlighting

1. Highlight soft black details (Pouches) with 50/50 mix of Olive Flesh and Payne's Grey
2. Edge highlight purity seal wax and bolter/weapon casings with Evil Sunz Scarlet
3. Highlight Metallic silver details with Silver
4. Edge highlight both chest aquila and shoulders with White Gold

Step 12 - Eye lenses

1. Paint base with Psychic Shock
2. Glaze with Aeldari Emerald - if overfilled use clean brush to suck up excess
3. paint shine line in upper left half of lenses with Olive Flesh

Bases

1. Prime Black Primer
2. Dry brush Neutral Grey
3. Wash with Dark Tone paying attention to deep cracks
4. Lightly dry brush highlight of Stone Grey
5. Generously wash with Mortarion Grime
6. Final light highlight of Stone Grey
7. Mix PVA Glue and flocking/grass of choice with small amount of water- paint this in small blotches to create moss effect
8. Place dots of mod podge on base, press base into flower container to adhere flower flocking, knock any excess back into container
9. Seal with Mecha Satin Varnish
