How I painted this stunning character from "The Outpost at Meerbridge" starter set for 1490 DOOM.
Light Green
- Basecoat: Nurgling Green
Shade: Nurgling Green & Straken Green
Soft Shade: Straken Green
Deep Shade: Straken Green & Black
Dark Green
- Basecoat: Castellan Green
Wash: Nocturne Green
Highlight: Deathworld Forest
Highlight: Death Guard Green
Highlight: Krieg Khaki
Mid Green
- Basecoat: Elysian Green
Soft Shade: Deathworld Forest
Deep Shade: Deathworld Forest & Black
Highlight: Elysian Green & Ogryn Camo
Highlight: Ogryn Camo
Dirty White Cloth
- Basecoat: Karak + White
Shade: Agrax Earthshade
Re-blend base
Highlight: White
Khaki Cloth
- Basecoat: Karak Stone & Baneblade Brown 1:1
Shade: Baneblade Brown
Deep Shade: Steel Legion Drab
Line Shade: Rhinox Hide
Layer: Karak Stone
Highlight: Karak Stone & White 1:1
Brown Leather
- Basecoat with Mournfang Brown .
- Shade with Rhinox Hide .
- With 1:1 Mournfang Brown and XV-88 add chunky highlights.
- Apply fine highlight of XV-88 add fine highlights.
- Selectively highlight with 1:1 XV-88 and Morghast Bone .
- Finish with very small/specular highlights of Morghast Bone .
Dark Brown Leather
- Basecoat with Rhinox Hide .
- Highlight with Doombull Brown .
- Highlight more selectively with XV-88 .
- Finish with a few specular Screaming Skull highlights.
Wood
- Basecoat with 1:1 Dryad Bark & Mournfang Brown .
- Run some thin Dryad Bark into deep recesses.
- Apply chunky highlights with a 1:1 mix of the base colour & Karak Stone .
- Now apply fine highlights with Karak Stone .
- Finish with selective highlights of 1:1 Karak Stone & Wraithbone .
- I found the finish was a bit chalky at this point, so I added richness with a glaze of Reikland Fleshshade .
Skin
- Basecoat with an equal parts mix of Cadian Fleshtone , Kislev Flesh and White .
- Mix some Doombull Brown into the basecoat and glaze in some shading.
- Increase the amount of Doombull Brown in the mix and shade the deepest recesses.
- Mix some White into the base colour and highlight the skin.
- Increase the amount of White in the mix for further highlights, pushing them as far as you need.
Steel
- Basecoat with Exhaust Manifold .
- Add variety with glazed shading of Ratling Grime and Wyldwood to enhance it in the deepest recess.
- Highlight with mix some Silver RLM01 Metallic into the Exhaust Manifold and highlight. Do this roughly, with a mix of edge highlights and a few stippled marks.
- Finish with some small Silver RLM01 Metallic highlights.
