The paints I like to use to paint sandy or desert bases. I like to use this over AK's "Beach Sand" texture paste, but it looks nice over other pastes or just PVA glue and sand.

1. Basecoat with Morghast Bone .
2. Glaze with 1:2 XV-88 and Lahmian Medium . This should give you a wash like consistency that can be ran all over the base. I like to use a pretty big brush and pull the pigment towards feet, under models and towards other details..
3. Basecoat any stones with Administratum Grey .
4. Run a small amount of Agrax Earthshade around where the stone meets sand, to create shadows.
5. Drybrush or manually highlight the stones with Administratum Grey .
6. Gradually mix White into your Administratum Grey and highlight the cloth. Do this in multiple passes until you are finishing them with specular highlights of almost pure White .
7. Basecoat: Morghast Bone
   Glaze shade: XV-88
   Drybrush highlight: Screaming Skull
   Glaze shade: Gryph-hound Orange & Aggaros Dunes 1:1
   Drybrush: Screaming Skull & White 1:1
   Glaze shade: Averland Sunset
   Rim: Steel Legion Drab
