  1. Prime with a light grey. I used Ghoul Grey iirc (primed this ages before starting painting so not 100% sure - any grey should be ok).
  2. Coat the metals with Thrash Metal .

Then, give them an overall wash with Basilicanum Grey . Freely wet your brush and remove some of the contrast paint towards the highlights of the armour, such as the top of the helmet and breastplate.
  3. Basecoat the entire undersuit with Thunderhawk Blue . If you check reference material from the movies, this coloured fabric extends to the boots and gloves. Do 2 thin coats to avoid getting any on the armour.

Once dry, wash the fabric with a 1:1 mix of Drakenhof Nightshade and water or Lahmian Medium .
  4. Use a dark brown, like Navy Blue to paint the outer helmet features.
  5. Coat the weapons and inner visor with Black Templar
  6. Mix some Sky Blue or equivalent into the previous Navy Blue , and use it to pick out the outer helmet features such as the circlet and visor front. Then, use some pure Sky Blue to do a few extreme highlights.
  7. Basecoat the leather holsters/belts/straps/etc with Doombull Brown .

Wash these areas with Reikland Fleshshade .
  8. I based the model with Vallejo Dark Earth texture paste, covering the broken droid with some Vallejo Environments Rust Texture. The entire base was then covered with Basilicanum Grey , then I stabbed in a mix of pigment powder (GSW Burnt Umber and V Brown Iron Oxide), before sealing. Base rim was done with Corvus Black .
