This is my take on the paint scheme of the Shrouded Hand warband, a splinter group of the Alpha Legion featured in the Chaos Space Marine codex from 8th Ed. 40k.
The main colours are green and silver.
General Information:
My general method is to lay down all the base colours for the model, then do all the shading in the recesses before moving on to the highlights.
I don't own an airbrush, so the recipe will mainly consist of brush on paints.
Priming:
I find the metallic sprays from GW tend to be a little on the transparent side, so an initial undercoat of black helps.
- Prime the model lightly with Chaos Black
 - Prime over that with Leadbelcher

Silver (Armour Trim):
I generally start with the armour trim so that any time I get paint on another piece its easy to cover later.
For grenades, replace Nuln Oil with Athonian Camoshade
- Drybrush over the model with Leadbelcher to even out the colour
 - Shade the recesses and around any rivets with Nuln Oil
 - Highlight fine points and sharp edges with Stormhost Silver
 - Add a rust effect sparingly with thinned Skrag Brown

Green (Armour Panels):
- Base with Kabalite Green
 - Shade the recesses with Nuln Oil
 - Highlight fine points and sharp edges with Sybarite Green

Purple (Details - Cloth, Wraps):
- Base with Naggaroth Night
 - Shade the recesses with Nuln Oil
 - Highlight the edges with Xereus Purple
 - Add fine points of Pink Horror

Gold (Details - Buckles, Chaos Icons, Weapon Details):
- Base with Retributor Armour
 - Shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade
 - Highlight fine points and sharp edges with Stormhost Silver

Black (Details - Armour Ribbing):
- Base with Abaddon Black
 - Highlight the edges with Eshin Grey

Brown (Details - Leather Pouches):
- Base with Rhinox Hide
 - Shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade
 - Roughly highlight the edges with Skrag Brown
 - Add a fine highlight of Skrag Brown

Red (Details - Lenses):
- Base with Mephiston Red
 - Shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade
 - Layer the middle with Wild Rider Red
 - Add fine points of Fire Dragon Bright
