Chaos Cultists scheme for my Red Corsairs warband.
Prime
- Prime the entire mini with any black. Matt Black Undercoat was used here.
Skin
- Basecoat all the skin with Bugman's Glow . Two thin coats should do it here.
- All over wash with Reikland Fleshshade , ensuring it does not pool in areas you do not want it and drag excess in order to define the muscles.
- Layer back over with Bugman's Glow , ensuring you don't cover the wash in the recesses.
- Layer again with Cadian Fleshtone ; don't cover all of the skin and focus on areas where light would hit the muscles.
- Go over scars and areas where metal erupts through the skin with some Carroburg Crimson to give it a slightly inflamed look.
Red Cloth
- Base coat the cloth with Mephiston Red using two thin coats.
- Wash the cloth with Nuln Oil , making it sure it gets in those deep recesses.
- Layer back over the higher points of the cloth with Mephiston Red .
- Edge highlight with Evil Sunz Scarlet , then feather it out a bit with some water to make sure it isn't too sharp of a line. Edge highlight sharp corners with the same color.
- Hit the absolute sharpest corners with a little bit of Troll Slayer Orange .
Pants and Boots
- Layer Corvus Black for the cloth pants, leaving the boots the primed black.
- Wash the pants and boots with Agrax Earthshade , giving it a slightly dingy/dirty look.
Brass
- Layer with Runelord Brass .
- Wash with Reikland Fleshshade .
- Hit the high points back with some Runelord Brass .
- Absolute tip of spike on helmet with some Stormhost Silver .
Weapons
- Layer Corvus Black for the pistols.
- Edge highlight with Mechanicus Standard Grey .
- Hit all metal parts (barrel, magazine, wrist protector, blade) with Ironbreaker . For the blade, make sure it doesn't cover entirely; one coat should be good to give it a nice used color. Make sure the blade edge has more of that silver color.
- Wash all of the Ironbreaker parts with Nuln Oil .
- Layer back some of the areas with Ironbreaker .
- Edge highlight the blade with Stormhost Silver , ensuring there is a nice solid line on the blade edge, to give it that sharpness look to it.
Base
- Lay on some Armageddon Dunes on the base using a texture paint tool, pushing it around to cover the base.
- Paint the rim using Abaddon Black .
