For my sisters of battle!

  1. Prime bases Black . If doing with a brush, do two layers
  2. Drybrush metal areas Sycorax Bronze
  3. Basecoat concrete areas Dawnstone
  4. Wash recesses of base with a 50/50 mix of Nuln Oil and Lahmian Medium
  5. Mask off the metal areas - I use a roll of christmas gift tape. It's like Sellotape but about 1/10th as sticky.
  6. Pick which areas of your concrete are going to be tinted dark, and which are going to be lighter. I find it works picking a lighter edge which is close to the base trim/edge
  7. Using a torn bit of sponge, start to build up lighter areas of the concrete with Grey Seer
  8. In the lighter areas do the same but with Ulthuan Grey , dabbing this heavily in the lightest edge, a medium amount in the middle, and hardly any at all where the blue will go
  9. Blob a big amount of Drakenhof Nightshade where you want the dark side(s) to be. Use a big blob of water while it's still wet to blend it with the dark and medium areas. Don't get any/much into the light spot.
  10. Come back in with Ulthuan Grey on a sponge to lighten the middle/bright areas again. Then use it to do scratchy hihglights on any sharp edges (like the edges of the Sororitas symbol in the picture)
  11. Use a sponge to dab on some Blood For The Blood God in little patches. Less is more.
  12. When you've finished handling the base and the model is finished, paint the base trim Black
