Here's my custom order minoris - Order of the Thorn. Special thanks to Bobby Clarke (Red Eagle Studios) for helping me figure this out.
Silver Armor
- Spray Leadbelcher
- Wash all over with Nuln Oil
- Drybrush all over with Runefang Steel . Don't overdo it. You want almost no paint on your brush and make sure the bottle is shaken first, or it'll go milky.
- Hit the very darkest shadows with very slightly watered down Black
- Get all edges with Stormhost Silver
Gold
- Retributor Armour
- Guilliman Flesh
- Sycorax Bronze (drybrush)
- German Camouflage Black Brown (pin shadow)
- Stormhost Silver (pin highlight)
- ⚠️ Shortcut alert: For tiny gold elements like buckles and pistol icons, you can usually get away with just a basecoat of Retributor Armour and a highlight of Stormhost Silver
Guns
- Basecoat Khorne Red
- Wash Nuln Oil
- Hit exposed panels again with Khorne Red , making sure not to erase any of the nuln oil shadows.
- Shade from middle to bottom of panels with Mephiston Red
- Shade bottom of panels. Wild Rider Red . The goal is to make a three-color transition, with Khorne at the top, Mephiston in the middle and Wild Rider at the bottom.
- Create a small edge shadow at the top with German Camouflage Black Brown . On pistols this will hardly be visible.
- Edge highlight top and side panels with Troll Slayer Orange
Blue Backpack Panels
- On your palette, make some blobs. Pure Kantor Blue , AK Blue Green, 50/50 Ak Blue Green and Kantor, Pure White , Pure Repear Surf Aqua.
- Basecoat the panel with the 1:1 Kantor Blue , AK Blue Green mix.
- Shade top left corner with pure Kantor Blue and make a transition.
- Shade bottom right corner with AK Blue Green and make a transition.
- Dot in top left of White - don't cover all of Kantor blue with it.
- Line highlight bottom left and part of bottom of panel with Surf Aqua.
Leather
- Basecoat all leather Rhinox Hide .
- Wash Nuln Oil
- Large highlight Mournfang Brown
- Medium edge highlight Skrag Brown
- Crisp edge highlight and scratches with mix of Skrag Brown and White
- Re-define any lost shadows with Black
