Quick method for creating a white marble/granite-like effect without an airbrush or using the wet wipes technique. This technique was developed by FALCON MINI STUDIOS.
- After priming with Grey Seer base coat with Mechanicus Standard Grey .
- Sponge randomly and sparsely with Dawnstone .
- Apply a thick, wet layer of Wraithbone and then place a piece of cling film over it. Wrinkle the cringe film roughly and removed it to leave a random marbled pattern.
- Highlight and build up some select lighter areas with Pallid Wych Flesh .
- Apply some sparse patches of very thinned Steel Legion Drab .
- Wash all over with very thinned Pallid Wych Flesh to bring all the colours together.
- Apply some highlights with White Scar . Then sponge on some very light speckles of White Scar .
- Using a sponge gently add some faint speckles of Mechanicus Standard Grey .
- Optional step: at this point you can paint in some very fine cracks with thinned Mechanicus Standard Grey and a fine paint brush. This is tricky and takes some practice to look convincing. Adding in some very small areas of pure Mechanicus Standard Grey in the veins can add depth.
- Finally, apply an all over very thin wash of Pallid Wych Flesh and seal with a gloss or satin varnish.
