Some experiments with textured paints and washes.

Alien tuft

Light coat of Agrellan Earth .

Light coat of Astrogranite in the areas not covered.

Base coat of Black .

Dry brush of Neutral Grey and then of Light Grey

Paint a Winter Tuft from Army Painter with Magic Blue diluted around 1:2 or 1:3. Set the airbrush to about 20psi

Paint the glow with the same blue around the desired area for the tuft and glue it to the base.

Apply a light dry brush the tuft with Deep Sky Blue .

Looks nice but the ground effect must be more detailed for catching the glowing effect of the tuft. Also the base coat of black may destroy the smallest crackles.

Crackle paint mixed with sand paint

Apply a mix 1:1 of Agrellan Earth and Astrogranite .

Dry brush with Ivory .

The mixture of normal paint with the crackle paint seems to ruin the effect since this effect is created with an special medium that cures differently than normal paints.

Blueish moon

Thick coat of Agrellan Earth .

Thick coat of Astrogranite in the areas not covered.

Wash the entire base with Drakenhof Nightshade .

Light dry brush of Ivory .

This effect seems to work nicely and the already blue shadow may fit the alien tuft that I experimented with in the first base.

foldr

I make this recipes for the foldr that lives far in the future. He is a very forgetful person.
