This is supposed to be a speed paint scheme for my loyalist death guard. It's not that quick, but it's SUPER forgiving, and works great with batching. Everything is in blocks and doesn't need any crazy shading. Colors are all things that could come straight from a pot or made with minimal mixing.
It ends up looking good in chunks of armies, and is pretty quick when batched. I make it a full tutorial because I've had to resurrect the recipe multiple times.
Model
Base
Prime Wraithbone
Base armor Rakarth Flesh No niceness required, this is the lowest layer.
Shade all rakarth with Seraphim Sepia Trying to get deep areas, messy ok
Base right arm Word Bearers Red - Base shoulder Militarum Green
Base metals Leadbelcher
Shading
Use Snakebite Leather to handle leather, and shade red portions.
VERY rough drybrush with Pallid Wych Flesh . Cover all the rakarth things. Let it be scratchy
Bring back the midtone reds with Word Bearers Red
Green up that green with Loren Forest
Dirty up metals with delicious Nuln Oil
Using Evil Sunz Scarlet and Word Bearers Red , pretty up some gradient on the arms. The hell with skill, just go back and forth until whatever.- Pretty up everything you messed up because painting is hard.
Finals
Use some black to do details. Thamar Black is the best black. Fite me.
Clean up everything that black inevitably messed up. Also, reshade if the new darkness needs counterpoint.
Use Word Bearers Red to make eyes, add a dot with White Scar and cover with Gryph-hound Orange . Poof, glowy eyes.
Edgy highlights! White Scar , Evil Sunz Scarlet , Elysian Green , and Ironbreaker
Base
Cover base in Gryph-hound Orange
Stripe some Baal Red Across it. Or other colors in that red/orange palette, like Magmadroth Flame - Coat with 50/50 mix of PVA and water.
Cover with Mordant Earth
Drybrush with Celestra Grey Very light. Rim the base with Thamar Black - Add some dead plants. Deathguard like dead plants.
