Overview
Primed in Leadbelcher but should have primed in Chaos Black Leadbelcher spray goes on super smooth and makes it hard for paint to layer well.
Left sponsoons and turret unglued to facilitate painting
Basecoats
- Paint tank body in Iron Warriors (easier done over Chaos Black than Leadbelcher
- Paint all panels to be yellow in Zandri Dust then Averland Sunset (2 thin coats)
- Paint all panels to be black with Black Legion and then with a 2:1 mix of Naggaroth Night and Abaddon Black
- Paint accent areas on gunner, turret, sponsoons, etc in either Runelord Brass or Balthasar Gold depending
- Paint tank tracks in a 1:1:1 mix of Leadbelcher : Rhinox Hide : Lahmian Medium
Washes (initial)
- Wash all metal armor areas on tank, turret, and gunner with Targor Rageshade thined with a little Lahmian Medium to improve flow
- Wash all guns, exhaust areas, and sponsoons, with a 1:1 mix of Agrax Earthshade and Lahmian Medium
- Wash treads in a 2:2:1 mix of Water : Lahmian Medium Wyldwood Make sure this gets into all the gaps.
- Shade recesses on yellow panels with Wyldwood
Layers
- Line yellow panels with masking tape to make hazard stripe pattern. Layer uncovered areas with Abaddon Black Remove paint while tape is still wet and using a little Abaddon Black and Averland Sunset add some unevenness to the lines
- Layer large rivets on all panels with Balthasar Gold
- Layer the piping and ribbing on the sponsoons with Mephiston Red (Sponsoons are Volkite Calivers)
- Layer all lenses with Mephiston Red
- Drybrush tank treads with Leadbelcher
Highlights
- Highlight edges of tank treads with Stormhost Silver drybrush
- Highlight edges of metal armor, guns, and exhaust areas with Iron Hands Steel then Stormhost Silver
- Highlight edges of yellow panels in Ushabti Bone
- Highlight edges of black weapon casings and hazard stripes with Mechanicus Standard Grey then Dawnstone
- Highlight purple-black panels in Daemonette Hide and then Slaanesh Grey
Final steps
- Apply decals with Microset/sol
- Varnish with Munitorum Varnish
