Inspired by Ninjon. Go watch his video on WH40K 11th Edition Starter Sets to see him paint this scheme better than I can!

  1. Black Prime/Undercoat Model
  2. Black Mournfang Brown Mephiston Red Mix into a thin paint in a (roughly) 1:2:3 ratio for a burgundy colour. Mix this with a fair amount of water to make it slightly thicker than a wash. Cover over entire model, the paint should give flat areas a faint rust colour and pool more in the recesses.
  3. Orruk Flesh Mephiston Red Mix a small amount of red into the green to create a muddy olive/militray green. Using the paint thinly, cover all the skin but leave the smallest amount of the rusty underpaint in the recesses to create interesting shadows.
  4. Orruk Flesh Paint over 80% of the previous layer to bring up to the midtone skin colour
  5. Mephiston Red Thinned down a LOT (like at least 5 parts water), cover all of the skin with a single layer to bring some fleshy warmth to the skin
  6. Orruk Flesh Re-establish green in raised areas
  7. Orruk Flesh Wraithbone Use wraithbone to lighten the green into a highlight colour and highlight raised areas. Do it a second time with an even lighter green if you're fancy.
  8. Mephiston Red Wraithbone Used for gums, lips, tongue, teeth and snout in various shades.
  9. Craven Yellow Wraithbone Eyes
  10. Mournfang Brown Stipple for leather (see image chest strap)
  11. Wraithbone Dawnstone Stipple for a cloth texture (see image pants)
  12. Zandri Dust Stipple for alternate leather (see image ammo pouch)
  13. Black Paint over black metal areas of armour and weapons. Be sure to leave the rusty recesses well alone.
  14. Wraithbone Cover some small metal details
  15. Mephiston Red Mournfang Brown Mix a touch of brown to darken some red to basecoat some weapon or armour details. Then highlight with pure red.
  16. Leadbelcher Edge highlight metal. Highlight at 45 degrees for reflective areas. Can also just cover some small metal details with silver such as armour fang shards, chains and metal accessory hoops
  17. Mournfang Brown Zandri Dust Wraithbone Use these paints for a fur pattern
  18. The Fang Kantor Blue Calgar Blue Use these paints for scaled hides
  19. Agrax Earthshade One thinned coat of this should bring any details that are too vibrant back down into the model.
  20. Armageddon Dust Agrax Earthshade Zandri Dust Desert base texture, shade and drybrush.
  21. Black Paint base rim and model is complete!
