This is my take on the paint scheme of the Blood Disciples warband, formerly the loyalist Emperor's Wolves chapter.
The main colours are grey, gold, and red.
General Information:
My general method is to lay down all the base colours for the model, then do all the shading in the recesses before moving on to the highlights.
I don't own an airbrush, so the recipe will mainly consist of brush on paints.
Priming:
- Prime the model with Mechanicus Standard Grey
Grey (Armour Panels):
- Lightly drybrush over the model with Mechanicus Standard Grey to even out the colour
- Shade the recesses with Nuln Oil
- Highlight the edges with Dawnstone
- Add a highlight of Administratum Grey to fine points and sharp edges
Gold (Armour Trim):
- Base the trim with Retributor Armour
- Shade the recesses and around any rivets with Agrax Earthshade
- Highlight fine points and sharp edges with Stormhost Silver
Red (Details - Helmet, Cloth, Wraps, Gun Casing):
- Base with Mephiston Red
- Shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade
- Highlight the edges with Wild Rider Red
- Highlight fine points with Fire Dragon Bright
Silver (Details - Weapons, Chains):
For grenades, replace Nuln Oil with Athonian Camoshade
- Base with Leadbelcher
- Shade the recesses with Nuln Oil
- Highlight the edges with Stormhost Silver
Black (Details - Armour Ribbing, Cables):
- Base with Abaddon Black
- Highlight the edges with Eshin Grey
- Highlight fine points and sharp edges with Dawnstone
Blue (Details - Lenses):
- Base with Sotek Green
- Shade the recesses with Drakenhof Nightshade
- Layer the middle with Temple Guard Blue
- Add points of Baharroth Blue
Brown (Details - Leather Pouches):
