A really basic recipe to batch paint battleline models.
Prime black and then…
- Layer metallics with 2 layers of Gold/Pale Blue
- Basecoat cloth & tassel Dirty Red . First coat over the whole surface, for the second just cover the top 1/2 because the other colors will be below and you don’t waste time/paint.
- Layer cloth & tassel Magenta over the bottom 2/3 of the cloth
- Layer cloth & tassel Deep Purple over the bottom 1/3 of the cloth. You might need to glaze this to get a smooth gradient.
- Basecoat skin Deep Purple
- Basecoat trousers & weapon handles Tenebrous Grey
- Basecoat base grey 1:2 mix of Tenebrous Grey + Offwhite
- Basecoat rim Tenebrous Grey
BATTLE READY!!! YAY!!!
Shadows
- Carefully apply a glaze/wash of Druchii Violet in the recesses where all materials meet other materials (ie. trouser & cloth). And wash the base. Also in the shadows of the metallics.
Skin
- Layer a mix of 1:2 Deep Purple + Vampiric Flesh . Then glaze to smooth the transition
- Layer a mix of 1:4 above on the final highlights and glaze to smooth the transition
Cloth
- Layer 3:1 mix of Vampiric Flesh + Deep Purple on the raised edges of the cloth
Metals
- Layer Gold/Pale Blue over the top metallic edges that would be hit by the light source
- Edge highlight the metallics with 1:1 Offwhite + Gold/Pale Blue
Base
- Drybrush with a heavy grey 4:1 mix of Offwhite + Tenebrous Grey
- Drybrush Vampiric Flesh
- Basecoat the rim with Tenebrous Grey
