Prime and Undercoating
- Prime with 1:1   Grey  +   Black  
 - Zenithal spray with Liquitex White Ink 
 - Spray from underneath   Dark Prussian Blue  
 - At a 90 degree angle, spray   Violet  
 - At a 45 degree angle, spray   Flat Red  
 - Zenithal and selective spray of features with   Light Yellow  
 
Skin
- Spray   Troll Slayer Orange  onto the skin in the direction you want the highlight. Try to isolate muscle volumes
 - Redefine the shadows and recesses on the skin with   Violet  thinned down to a wash consistency
 - Edge highlight scars and bumps on the skin with   Troll Slayer Orange  . If the scars/bumps are in previously highlighted areas, mix 1:1   Light Yellow  &   Troll Slayer Orange  and edge highlight with that mixture instead
 - Bulging veins can be highlighted with 2:1 mix of   Ahriman Blue  &   Violet  , layer consistency
 
Wing Bones
- Recess shade joints and crevices with   Violet  in a Wash consistency
 - Highlight edges and volumes with   Troll Slayer Orange   , then   Troll Slayer Orange  +   Light Yellow   as the subject gets closer to the light source
 
Rough Metal (Chains etc)
- Base coat with   Black Grey  
 - Mix   Black Grey   +   London Grey   1:1 and continue progression
 - Continue progression with   London Grey  
 - Continue progression with mix 1:1   London Grey  +   White  
 - Continue progression with   White  
 - Glaze highlights with   Light Yellow  
 - Glaze floor reflections with   Dark Prussian Blue  
 - Glaze Skin reflections with   Flat Red  
 - Edge highlight with   White  
 
Wing Membrane
- Base coat with   Heavy Charcoal  
 - Wash with   Black Templar  
 - Highlight volumes with   Heavy Charcoal  
 - Further volume highlight with   Mechanicus Standard Grey  
 - Edge highlight with 3:1 mix of   Mechanicus Standard Grey  +   White  
 
Brass
- Base coat with   Violet  
 - Start your progression with a 1:1 mix of   Black  +   Red Leather 
 - Continue the progression with   Red Leather  
 - Continue the progression with 1:1 mix of   Red Leather  +   Plague Brown  
 - Continue the progression with   Plague Brown  
 - Continue the progression with 1:2 mix of   Plague Brown  +   White   (ratio may vary, we're aiming for a colour half way between the mixers)
 - Continue the progression with   White  
 - Thin down 2:1 Water +   Gryph-hound Orange  and glaze all over the Brass (we're trying to tint, not wash/flood the area.)
 - Scratchy edge highlight with   White   along light facing edges
 - Glaze   Dark Prussian Blue  for contrast in at the shadows or parts of surfaces that would be 'black'
 
Talons/Claws
- Base coat with 2:1 mix of   Dryad Bark   +   Black  
 - Highlight volumes with   Dryad Bark  
 - Continue volume highlight with 2:1 mix of    Gold Brown  +   Dryad Bark 
 - Edge highlight with mix of 3:1   Gold Brown  +   Dryad Bark  
 - Glaze in shadows with   Dark Prussian Blue 
 
Skulls & Bones
- Basecoat in   Violet  
 - Mix 1:1   XV-88  +   Screaming Skull   and layer the bone, avoiding recesses and parts in shadow
 - Layer highlights with   Screaming Skull  
 - If needed, recess shade any cracks, eye holes, teeth, etc with a thin wash of 2:1 Water and   Violet 
 - In the deepest shadows, layer   Dark Prussian Blue  
 - Apply   Light Yellow  in a thin glaze on the very tops of the bone
 
Horns
- Basecoat w/ mix 1:1:3 of   Black  :   XV-88  :   Screaming Skull  
 - Wet blend mix of 2:1:3 of   Black  :   XV-88  :   Screaming Skull   with basecoat, new mix at tips of horns.
 - Very, very, very thin wash of   Seraphim Sepia  in recesses of horns, prioritising base of horns
 - Thin wash of   Nuln Oil  on darker tips of horns
 - Very, very, very thin recess shade of horns using   Violet  
 - Edge highlight with   Screaming Skull  
 
Black Armour
- Undercoat in   Dark Prussian Blue  
 - Basecoat with   Heavy Charcoal  
 - Mix 1:1   Heavy Charcoal  +   London Grey   and glaze highlights
 - Edge highlight with   London Grey  
 - Glaze shadows with   Dark Prussian Blue  
 
Black Straps
- Base coat with 1:1   Black  +   Black Grey  
 - Highlight with   Black Grey  
 - Edge Highlight with 1:1   Black Grey   +   White
